THE ENSEMBLE

I feel honored to hold my role in Kontrapunktus, and it is such a joy to make music with this group, whose members are very dear to me as both musicians and friends. I am so grateful for the opportunity to perform for audiences in California and for the special, spontaneous musical moments we experience together in each concert as an ensemble.

It’s a real treat for us as musicians to explore hidden gems of the repertoire with audiences who are so supportive of our mission. With Kontrapunktus, I always feel a special closeness with our listeners, whose enthusiasm makes these discoveries especially meaningful.

Being a member of Kontrapunktus is an incredible experience, shaping not only my musicianship but the depth of my connection with my dearest friends, the music we make, and our audiences, reminding me that the most meaningful music is the kind we create together.

I love the responsibility of being the foundation and support for the whole ensemble. It is a blast to steer the ensemble from the fundament and make music with fantastic artists!

Playing chamber music is one of my greatest joys in life, made even more special by the opportunity to share the stage with some of my dearest friends. The ethos of Kontrapunktus is one of trust and genuine enjoyment, and I hope that our joy is felt equally by the audience. Thank you to my fellow musicians for their inspiration and collaboration, and to everyone else who made this possible!

What inspires me about Kontrapunktus is the intensity of listening — each voice matters, and together every phrase finds its purpose. I feel incredibly fortunate to perform alongside my friends and to share our passion with the audience. I am so grateful for their creativity and support, and for everyone who makes Kontrapunktus possible.

What I cherish most about our ensemble is the sense of shared discovery as we shape each program. There’s a vulnerability and honesty in that process that makes every performance feel alive, both for us on stage and for the audience experiencing it with us!

When musicians want to connect on the deepest level, we turn to chamber music. It is a way for us to fully commit to the music, ourselves, and each other. I am so grateful to Kontrapunktus for bringing together some of my favorite people and artists, and I am so lucky to be a part of this group. I extend my gratitude to the donors and audience members who believe in our mission and look forward to many more concerts and adventures with this amazing organization!

I play music that speaks to me regardless of how often it’s already being played, rediscovering lost masterpieces and composers who deserve more attention, paired with my own fresh take on the classics. It’s my hope that if I love a piece, someone in the audience will too.
